Best Heroes for Beginners I

Heroes Evolved provides a huge list of heroes to choose from. It may be difficult to figure out what heroes suit you, especially if you are new. Here we recommend some easy-to-play heroes for beginners to practice.

 

1. Zhao Yun

How to Obtain: Beginners can unlock Zhao Yun on their 2nd check-in day.

Hero’s Role: Zhao Yun is a distinctive assassin usually played for jungling and ganking. He can also push and support in a lane.

How to Use: Zhao Yun is fast and resilient due to his abilities. He has two abilities for dash, an ability for control and defense, and a passive ability for dealing bonus damage. His ultimate ability allows him to pull enemy heroes to him. Zhao Yun is a good pick for beginners to do rear attacks and control in teamfights, or help teammates while ganking.

Recommended Jewels & Glyphs:

Armor (Red) + Miser (Major)

Mana Regen (Blue) + Oppressor (Major)

Racer (Green) + Back and Forth (Major)

As a bold assassin, Zhao Yun needs to charge and support timely. The Jewels recommended above benefit Zhao Yun with bonus Armor, Mana regeneration, and Movement Speed respectively, while those Glyphs allow him to support and develop faster.

Recommended Item Build: War Boots, Butterfly Wings, Reaper Mask, Ragnorak Cannon, King's Armor, and Liberty

War Boots and Butterfly Wings focus on boosting Zhao Yun’s Agility, so he can farm more efficiently in the early game. Reaper Mask grants Health regeneration and comprehensive attribute buffs. Ragnorak Cannon and Liberty help Zhao Yun get more kills by increasing his critical damage output significantly. King's Armor provides bonus Armor and Attack Speed to protect Zhao Yun in teamfights.

 

2. Nosferatu

How to Obtain: Nosferatu can be unlocked upon completion of the beginner’s tutorial.

Hero’s Role: Nosferatu is a mage played in the middle lane for harassment and kills.

 How to Use: Nosferatu’s ability against a single target deals continuous damage and heals himself based on the damage dealt. He has two abilities to deal high AoE damage for long which are perfect for troop elimination and damage output in teamfights. Nosferatu also gets increased Max Health through his passive ability. With farming advantages, Nosferatu is efficient in item builds and can continuously deal or block damage in teamfights.

 

Recommended Jewels & Glyphs:

Cunning (Red) + Miser (Major)

Mana Regen (Blue) + Bounty Hunter (Major)

Mage Craft (Green) + Back and Forth (Major)

Nosferatu is gifted with bonus Magic. The additional Magic Power provided by these Jewels enhances his laning potential in the early game. The Mana Regen (Blue) grants him regeneration. All these allow him to gank freely through battlefield.

Recommended Item Build: Wizard Boots, Chronos Crown, Demon Diadem, Quick Pulse, Conversion Staff, and Pharaoh's Shroud

Wizard Boots and Chronos Crown help Nosferatu survive in the early game. Demon Diadem improves his performance in damage and harassment. Quick Pulse grants him regeneration. Conversion Staff further increases his magic damage dealt. Pharaoh's Shroud may help Nosferatu escape from critical situations when his abilities are cooling down.

 

3. Diana

How to Obtain: Beginners can unlock Zhao Yun on their 6th check-in day.

 

Hero’s Role: Diana is played as an Archer for pushing in the top/bottom lane and breakthrough.

How to Use: Diana’s ultimate ability can enhance the rest of her abilities. Her Soul Shock can be triggered twice to control a single target, and can cause Root and knockback when enhanced. Her Hunter’s Dash allows him to dash, and grants him an invisible status and bonus damage when enhanced. Her passive ability increases her basic attack damage, and makes it more impressive when enhanced. Diana is a pretty safe pick since she can deal high damage in a secured environment by using her abilities to control the distance from enemy heroes in teamfights.

Trickster (Red) + Miser (Major)

Shiv (Blue) + Bounty Hunter (Major)

Attack Speed (Green) + Back and Forth (Major)

As an Archer, Diana relies more on damage output to survive and develop in the early game. The Glyphs recommended grant Diana bonus physical damage and make her item building more efficient.

Recommended Item Build: War Boots, Swift Spear, Golden Staff, Reaper Mask, Butterfly Wings, Shattering Spike, and Liberty

 The set of War Boots, Swift Spear, Golden Staff, and Reaper Mask is known as a multifunctional combination for Archer role. It covers damage output, blast, healing, and buffs to all attributes, granting the wearer a significant boost in duel or small teamfights. Butterfly Wings and Shattering Spike give Diana more bonus damage. Liberty helps Diana escape at critical moments.
